How-to Guide

How to Read the Crypto Market With Sumex

Read the market in three passes on Advanced Analytics: where the money sits, who is actually buying, and where traders are adding leverage.

Rotation

Rotation

Start with Dominance: Bitcoin's and Ether's share of the market and the stablecoin share. Rising BTC dominance means money is concentrating in Bitcoin; a rising stablecoin share means capital is on the sidelines.

Momentum

Momentum

Then check Cumulative Volume Delta: the running total of market buys minus market sells on spot and perps. Price rising while CVD falls is a divergence worth watching.

Leverage

Leverage

Finish with Open Interest History: aggregate open interest and each venue's line over time, to see where new leveraged positions are opening.

Funding & Open Interest

Funding Rates and Open Interest by Exchange

Every major perp venue for BTC, ETH or SOL in one table: funding per interval and per 8 hours, APR, next funding, open interest and basis, with the best funding carry pair.

Liquidations

Live Crypto Liquidations, Long vs Short

Forced closes of $20K and more from Binance, Bybit and OKX as they happen, the $500K ones outlined, and who paid for the last 24 hours: leveraged longs or shorts.

Order Flow

Live Order Flow: Who Is in Control?

Market buys against market sells on spot and perps over a rolling 60 seconds, venue by venue. 51% bought or more means buyers are in control; 49% or less, sellers.

Positioning

Long/Short Ratio by Exchange

How the crowd leans on Binance, OKX and Bybit next to each venue's top traders, over time. When the two split, the crowd is usually the side that gets squeezed.

Options

Bitcoin Options: Open Interest, Put/Call and DVOL

Deribit options for BTC and ETH: open interest and notional volume, put/call ratios, the expiries the market is positioned for, and DVOL, the 30-day implied volatility index often called the crypto VIX.

Token Safety

Honeypot Checker: Test a Token Contract Before You Buy

A honeypot token lets you buy it but restricts or blocks selling. Paste a token address into Sumex Honeypot Checker and it simulates a buy and a sell and analyses the contract before you swap.

  • Tokens on Ethereum, BSC and Base
  • Buy, sell and transfer tax from a simulated trade
  • Open-source and proxy checks on the contract
  • Recent holders who could and could not sell
  • Liquidity pair and total liquidity
  • Risk factors listed with a risk level

Questions

FAQ

A crypto market overview is one page that summarises the whole market. Sumex Market Overview has an Advanced Analytics page that puts the majors' data side by side: Fear and Greed and market dominance, funding rates and open interest across perpetual venues, liquidations, order flow, long/short positioning, options and on-chain cycle indicators, for BTC, ETH and SOL.

You can open Market Overview at app.sumex.io/market and its Advanced Analytics page at app.sumex.io/advanced-analytics and read every card without creating an account.

The Fear and Greed Index is a daily score from 0 to 100 built from volatility, momentum, social media, dominance and search trends. Fear & Greed History shows today's reading with its zone, from Extreme Fear to Extreme Greed, the 7- and 30-day averages, yesterday, last week and last month, and daily bars coloured by zone over one month, three months or a year.

Dominance shows each asset's share of total crypto market cap: BTC dominance, ETH dominance and the stablecoin share, as numbers and as a donut with the rest of the market, next to the total market cap and its 24-hour change. Rising BTC dominance means money is concentrating in Bitcoin; a rising stablecoin share means capital is parked on the sidelines.

Open interest is the value of open perpetual futures positions. Open Interest History charts the aggregate across venues and each venue's own line, such as Binance, OKX and Bybit, in USD or as a percentage change, on 1-hour, 4-hour or daily bars, with how much each one changed over the window. Rising open interest means traders are opening new leveraged positions.

Cumulative Volume Delta is the running total of market buys minus market sells since the first bar shown, for spot and for perpetuals. A rising line means market buyers keep absorbing the asks. Next to it, Buy Pressure shows the share of each bar's volume that was market buys, around the 50% line.

Advanced Analytics is the deeper page behind Market Overview, at app.sumex.io/advanced-analytics. For BTC, ETH and SOL it shows positioning, funding and open interest, liquidations, order flow, options, on-chain and macro data, read straight from the exchanges' public APIs and public data providers. It is free to open without an account.

Funding is a payment between longs and shorts on a perpetual future every funding interval: when the rate is positive, longs pay shorts. Perpetuals By Venue lists each venue's rate per its own interval (1h, 4h or 8h), scales it to 8 hours and to an APR so venues compare directly, and adds the next funding time, open interest and basis. Funding Carry pairs the venue with the lowest 8-hour funding against the highest, a gauge of venue dislocation rather than a guaranteed yield.

Live Liquidations lists forced closes of $20K and more streamed from Binance, Bybit and OKX since you opened the page, outlines the ones of $500K and more, and keeps running totals of longs and shorts liquidated, the event count and the largest. Exchanges throttle these feeds, so the totals are a lower bound. Liquidation Summary shows the last 24 hours on the venues that publish their history, with the long share.

Live Order Flow compares market buys with market sells, trade by trade, on spot and perpetual markets over a rolling 60 seconds. With 51% or more bought, buyers are in control; with 49% or less, sellers are. A table splits bought, sold, delta and buy share by venue and market.

Long/Short By Venue shows the share of accounts holding a net long on Binance, OKX and Bybit perpetuals, next to each venue's own top traders by accounts and by position size, with the change from the previous period. Long/Short History tracks it over time with a volume-weighted index. Extremes often come before squeezes against the crowded side.

For BTC and ETH, Options shows Deribit's options book: open interest and 24-hour notional volume, the put/call ratio by open interest and by volume, open interest by expiry and by strike with max pain, and DVOL, Deribit's 30-day implied volatility index. Rising DVOL means traders pay more for protection and expect bigger moves.

On-Chain & Network shows Bitcoin valuation models from the daily close: MVRV Z-Score, MVRV, NUPL, Puell Multiple, Mayer Multiple and SOPR, each marked Undervalued, Neutral or Overheated, with the realized price and how far the price trades above it. It also shows network health: fees, the mempool, the next difficulty adjustment, hashrate and difficulty.

A honeypot token is a token you can buy but cannot sell, or can only sell under heavy restrictions. Paste a token address into Sumex Honeypot Checker and pick Ethereum, BSC or Base. It simulates a buy and a sell, shows the buy, sell and transfer tax, checks whether the contract is open source or a proxy, analyses recent holders and liquidity, and lists any risk factors with a risk level. It is powered by Honeypot.is and free to use without an account. No automated check is foolproof, so a clean result is not a guarantee.

Market Overview loads fresh data each time you open the page, and it refreshes again when you return to the browser tab, so reload it when you want the latest figures. On Advanced Analytics, Live Liquidations and Live Order Flow stream from the exchanges while the page is open.

Neither. Market Overview shows the market when you open it and sends no notifications, and it does not track your own balances. Its indexes and rankings describe the market, they do not predict it, and they are not financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose money trading them.

Market Overview is for research and has no order buttons. When you are ready to act, open Sumex Trade, connect your exchange account and trade spot or futures there, with your funds staying on your exchange.
